In Mandrem, primely located on the beach, and distant enough from the noise of the main road’s traffic, The Sunset Hotel and restaurant beckons the relaxed travellers' attention.
Guests are greeted with a 24 hour security guard outside a large house overlooking 8 bamboo huts which line the walkway to the two story restaurant with spanning views of ocean and Mandrem beach. The vista from the restuarant is uninterrupted, providing a tranquil ambiance.
A private bridge crosses the stream towards the sun-soaked sand where sun-beds, still with access to wi-fi, beckon guests seeking the beach.
The Sunset can arrange dedicated transport to other parts of Goa, as well as special day trips and activities. The Hotel also offers a money exchange service and cellular recharge service.
The accommodation at the sunset is modest, but complete with a focus on the tranquility of the space, the restaurant and the spectacular sunset.
Guest in house rooms are located on the upper floor of the beachside house. Three of the rooms offer balconies with tables and seating including space for a child's bed along with exclusive use of the rooftop terrace. Superior bamboo huts and standard bamboo huts are located on the silky beach sand.
All rooms boast double beds, outside seating and en-suite bathroom facilities, where guests can enjoy The Sunset’s tranquil surrounds in safety and comfort.
With White curtains set against the white walls of the restaurant, a chic ambiance creates an ideal setting to be at ease. Soft music from surround sound speakers wafts through the air carried by the ocean’s breeze. The lower deck of the restaurant offers ample table seating whilst the upper deck is spread with loungers and low laying tables, both levels overlooking the beach.
Serving Oriental and International fare, specialising in Tandoor and seafood with two edicated chefs, the restaurant offers high quality fresh food for its patrons.
The Sunset restaurant is equipped with a bar that stocks quality domestic wine, serves premium liquor and mixes cocktails fit for a sunset. Drinks special are frequent and affordable. Expect to pay around INR350 for cocktails and INR450 for mains.
Having taken over the Sunset 5 years ago, when it was still a modest bamboo beach shack with a basic restaurant, the owner Ravi Singh saw immense potential. His vision was realised and is still growing as the ever increasing number of positive responses to The Sunset continue to surprise him.
Having hosted large scale events with artists such as Prem Joshua, The Sunset has developed into a tranquil solace with a capacity for extravagance.
Ravi notes that it will continue to develop, as he always strives to improve his endeavours.
