Set in a lane of village houses in Verla Canca, Tara Verde Goa is an exclusive retreat for the discerning global traveller looking for peace and quiet. Originally built in 1850, the colonial Portuguese building has been carefully refurbished with an Italian taste as a high standard guesthouse.
All the rooms are loacted in the main house with the backyard accommodating the massage and meditation requirements. On one side of the building is the restaurant and lounge space for in-house guests where music and art evenings are occasionally hosted.
Tara Verde Goa focusses on an individual's well-being to balance mind and body. It is created as a space to rejuvenate - recover energy and attain harmony.
The space has been mindfully constructed and has an eye for detail - recycling materials and techniques as a mark of respect to our environment.
Tara Verde Goa is a six bedroom mansion amidst gardens, fountains and a soothing atmosphere. The minimal and striking decor enhance the property and the accommodation space.
All the six rooms are spacious and are fully furnished with dedicated baths. Each room has been individually themed, named and maintains a similar vibe visible throughout the house.
Rishab is a deluxe suite located on the ground floor. It has a king-sized bed and is handicap friendly. Gandar is a suite with king-sized bed. Madhyam is a superior room with king-sized bed. Pancham is a suite with a mezzanine floor. It has a king-sized bed at the ground level and a single bed on the upper level. Dhaivat is a suite with king-sized bed and a terrace. Nishab has two Baldachinno single beds with a private bath outside the room.
The entire house can be rented out on request.
Lush manicured gardens with fruit and flowering trees welcome guests along a stone-laid pathway to the house's balchao. Colours across the exterior are muted, in turquoise and aquamarine pastels. Spiritual figurines of Lord Buddha and Lord Ganesha overlook the reception area.
The artifacts in the house have been handpicked from across the country showcasing Indian traditions and art - both classic and contemporary. Old carved wooden door frames see several uses as shelf holders, chairs and coffee tables; worn out barrels and urns are upcycled and incorporated into the interiors. Vintage Bollywood posters, bright rattans, Rajasthani cupboards and more adorn the space too. The decor on the whole is minimal, tasteful and charming.
Tara Verde Goa's kitchen serves organic food, sourcing most ingredients from the property's vegatable garden. The food philosophy here is based on sharing culinary cultures and traditions to produce different dishes with varied tastes.
The backyard of the house is the main area where guests mostly converge for a chat or a drink. A massage hut is situated at the far end of the property. A swimming pool and a dedicated yoga/meditation studio are in the making.
